Malia McDermott, BSBA, IMFT

Malia received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in
2005. She is currently completing her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral
University, a COAMFTE accredited school. For the past year, Malia has worked with children as a
clinician for Catholic Community Services. She enjoys working with families and helping them with
relational issues, anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, trauma, LGBTQI, and many other issues. Malia
uses Play Therapy that is child-directed and systemically focused. Malia has over 20 years of experience
coaching both school and travel volleyball teams. She has a passion for helping others and is involved
with serving her community in many ways.
Malia and her husband have been happily married for seven years and have two children – a teenager
and a toddler. Together, they enjoy anything sports related, especially Seahawks football. She and her
family have recently relocated from the Seattle area and are excited to put down roots in sunny St.
